Feature & Follow Friday #3

I'm back! It's been forever since I've written here, and let me tell you, things have been crazy hectic over the last few months! I've been working on my thesis, teaching Composition and Research at my university (so much grading!), attending tons of meetings, and trying to make time for friends and family. But, I've missed blogging and I've missed reading all the book blogs out there. So, what better way to make a comeback than with a blog hop?!

Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read every Friday. This week's featured blogs are: Murcurial Musings (Parajunkee) & Owl Tell You About It (Alison). I hope you'll stop by and say hello, if you haven't already.

Okay, here's this week's question: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

This is really tough, actually, because I feel like they rarely get books right in translation to film. I enjoyed Twilight okay, and I liked Harry Potter, but neither of them got it completely right. I am dying to see Hunger Games, but who isn't? So, I think right now the answer to this is that I'd like to see any regency romance turned into a film. I love period pieces, I love romance, and I know this is a really weird choice, but I'd love it! Of course, I may be the only one, so the chances are slim... but hey, a girl can dream!

As for actors, I'd really like to see Gerard Butler as the leading man. I adore him and I think he's got just the right look to play a rakish high society rogue. Female characters are where I really struggle. The truth is,I have no idea about this one. But definitely Gerard Butler for the male lead.

Another series I'd love to see turned into movies would have to be Colleen Gleason's Ordo Dracul series. The Vampire Dimitri was fantastic, I absolutely loved it! Oh, and maybe The Goddess Test, too, I really liked that one and can't wait to read Goddess Interrupted. But again, no idea for the actors and actresses.

Well, there you have it. I hope you'll take a minute to say hello and leave a link so I can return the favor. See you for next week's hop!

Book Blogger Hop & Follow Friday - June 3

Book Blogger Hop
It's Friday and that means blog hops!  Until now, I've only been participating in Follow Friday, but seeing the Book Blogger Hop buttons all over the web has inspired me to join the fun! Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy-for-Books and is a way to meet new people and get to know everyone a bit better. Just go to her site, get the button, answer the question, and put your info in the linky, easy as that!

This week's question: Share your favorite post from the last month and tell us why it’s close to your heart!
I think my favorite post from May was my Reflection: YA Lit post. I enjoyed discussing the evolution of YA lit, which has become something quite close to my heart as I read a heck of a lot of YA lit now a days, even though I'm in my early thirties. If you haven't read it, go check it out and tell me what you think, I'm quite proud of it!

Follow Friday is a weekly blog hop hosted by Parajunkee's View, as most of you know. The object is to follow the weekly blogger, answer the weekly question, and link up with others through the linky on Parajunkee's site.

This week's featured blogger is Amy from Backseat Reader. Go, check her out and say hello!

This week's question: What are you doing to prepare for an upcoming zombie apocalypse and/or the return of Mel Gibson to the silver screen? (Both of which could be terrifying.)
Let's see, to prepare for the zombie apocalypse I'm stocking up on Twinkies! I have it on good authority (does Woody Harrelson count as "good authority"?) that Twinkies can survive anything, and really, who can resist that spongy golden cake and cream filling? So, yes, Twinkies.  Oh, and I've just learned from this week's featured blogger, Amy, that the CDC has guidelines, so I'm taking them under advisement... but definitely Twinkies.
As for Mel Gibson... there is no way to prepare for that. There just isn't.  I think I'd prefer the zombies!
This week's questions were particularly fun and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's responses. Have a lovely Friday!

Follow Friday: No. 2

Wow, I love Follow Friday, but I never seem to catch it early enough!  It's only Thursday night and there're already tons of bloggers joining in the fun. This week's featured blogger at Parajunkee's View is Ninja Girl Reads!  Now, onto this week's question.

It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share. Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you? We all have them...

  1. If I could only have one gadget, it would be my Kindle, hands down. I don't know what I'd do without it.
  2. I make lists for everything. I even make lists of lists!
  3. My husband and I wage an epic daily battle over the air conditioner. He's always hot, I'm always cold. We've been doing this for... oh... about the last 12 years.
  4. I move my head slowly, from side to side when I type (or so my husband says).
  5. I have to sleep with one foot exposed and my head covered up.

There you have it!  Now, I'm off to bed, see you all in the morning... Happy Follow Friday!!

Follow Friday: No. 1

Hi there. This is my first Follow Friday (hosted by the awesome, Parajunkee!) and I've been waiting all week for it to get here! I'm having a good time clicking around, seeing other people's blogs and, most of all, their answers to the weekly question. So, with that said, here goes:

First things first, this week's featured blogger is Al from Magnet 4 Books. Her blog is really neat, so go check her out and don't forget to follow her blog!

What character in a book would you most like to be, what character in a book would you most like to date?

For me, this answer is twofold, so here goes...

On any given day, I would most like to be Elizabeth Bennett from my favorite book of all time, Pride and Prejudice. She's smart, strong, and full of sass! It stands to reason, then, that I would most like to date Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy!  Truly, he's a good portion of the reason I'd want to be her!!

Right now, I would also love to be Narcise Moldavi from The Vampire Narcise and date the amazingly hot Giordan Cale! I'm enjoying the book more than I thought I would, so they're my current fictional crush. I adore them!

So there you have it! Happy Follow Friday to everyone.  If you've stopped by, say hello. I love to meet new people and would love to make new book blog friends!
